Graduation Information

Magnolia West graduation ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 27 at Reed Arena in College Station at 6 p.m. The ceremony will be streamed live at Attached is a parking map ($5 per car for parking), Reed Arena's building policies, and a diagram of the graduation set up in the arena.

STAAR EOC Retesting & Remediation - Summer 2017

STAAR reports will be sent home with students Tuesday, May 23. Students who did not meet the passing standard will need to register for retesting and remediation. Remediation will be held at Magnolia West High School the week of June 12-15 from 7:30-12:30. Retesting will be held at Magnolia West High School the week of June 19-22 at 8:00. Robotics Team Wins UIL State Championship

The Magnolia West Robotics Team (FRC #6547) struck gold on Saturday when they won the UIL state robotics championship. After a season filled with lots of hard work and multiple competitions, the team capped off its season with a state title win. Team members include seniors Melody Lyu (lead programmer), Hannah Brown (programmer), Mason Colman (electrical engineering lead), juniors Branden Raheel (drive team and mechanical engineering) and Jonas Traweek (pilot and electrical engineering), and sophmores Thomas Corless (driver and mechanical engineering), Cristofer Becerril (drive team and mechanical engineering) and Robert Campbell (drive team and mechanical engineering).

Brigid Fox Named JROTC Battalion Commander

May 12 - Cadet Commander Brigid Fox was announced at the JROTC awards ceremony as the Magnolia Navy JROTC Battalion Commander for the 2017-2018 school year.This is the first time in the history of the unit that the top cadet has come from West. She has done a superb job for the past 3 years to earn this distinguished position.

If you are interested in running for class office, you need to turn a completed Class Officer Nomination Form in to Mrs. Everett in the College and Career Zone no later than 3:00 p.m. on Monday May 15th. Sophmore Shelby Husky's Essay Wins Third in State

In the fall, sophomore, Shelby Husky, entered the Daughters of the American Revolution Christopher Columbus Essay Contest. Shelby was selected as the winner for the Joanna Troutman Chapter, and had her essay advance to the state level. We recently received word that Shelby placed third in the state of Texas with her essay. Congratulations to Shelby on this achievement!

Lady Mustangs are Area Champions

The Lady Mustang Softball Team rolled over Lindale HS in two games Friday night. In Game 1 the Mustangs were visitors and jumped on the scoreboard with two runs. Emma McBride hit a shot up the middle for a single and scored on Lauren Corley’s hit to third base when the first baseman missed the throw. Lauren Corley then scored on a single by Caitlyn Rogers up the middle. The Lady Mustangs got on the board again in the 3rd with 4 runs. Caitlyn Rogers collected two more RBI’s on a double hit into the LF gap. Tamaryn Hamby not wanting to be outdone hit a shot over the CF fence to collect 2 RBI’s. The Lady Mustangs rounded out the scoring in the 7th with two more runs with RBI’s from McBride and Julissa Anaya. In the circle Ariana Adams racked up 12 K’s. The final score was 8-0.

In Game 2 the Lady Mustangs once again jumped out to a 2 run lead in the first. McBride and Katilyn Goike got on with a single and a double and were moved across the plate by Goike and Savannah Robertson respectively. After the first the Lady Mustangs never looked back. Rogers collected a single and a triple. Tamaryn Hamby, Robertson, Madison Johnson, and Julissa Anaya all collected hits. The Lady Mustangs won game two by a score of 7-0. Ariana Adams was in the circle again and collected 6 K’s on her way to a no-hitter.

The Lady Mustangs will face the winner of Brenham/College Station in the Regional Quarterfinal round next week.
