Early release/late arrival requirements

How can a student qualify for Early Release and/or Late arrival during the senior year?

To be eligible for Early Release/Late arrival, students must meet the following criteria below and (1) College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) indicator.

 

Criteria

  1. Earned a minimum of 21 credits by the beginning of their senior year

  2. On the Foundation with Endorsement graduation plan (graduating with an endorsement)

  3. Has passed all sections of the STAAR EOC tests or are IGC eligible 

  4. Has transportation arranged which will enable him/her to arrive late or leave early -must not be on campus during their early release/late arrival time.

  5. Students are responsible for contacting the colleges/universities to verify that a reduced class load for early release/late arrival will not affect their application for college admission. 

    

   CCMR Indicators

  In addition to the four (5) criteria above, students must additionally meet one (1) of the following  criteria:

-Dual Credit: Student must have completed at least 3 hours of an English or Math Dual Credit course, or have completed a total of 9 hours of Dual Credit courses in other subjects, or are enrolled in a course that would meet this requirement.

-OnRamps Course: Student completed OnRamps dual enrollment course with a passing grade or are enrolled in a course that would meet this requirement

-AP or IB: Student must have scored a 3 or higher on an AP Exam or a 4 or higher on an IB Exam or are enrolled in a course that would meet this requirement

-CTE Industry-Based Certification: Students must have currently completed a CTE pathway and earned a corresponding certification or are enrolled in a course that would meet this requirement

-College Prep Courses:  Have enrolled in a College Prep Math  & College Prep English.  Will need to earn a 75 or higher in College Prep Math & College Prep English.

-Military: Have committed to entering the armed forces

-Have met both TSI Reading/ELA and Math criteria. (Must have one checked box for ELA and one checked box for math)

 

Met Reading/ELA by: 

Met MATH by:

Testing: Scored a 480 or higher on SAT Reading & Writing  OR a 19 or higher on ACT English and 23 or higher ACT Composite OR 945 or higher on TSIA 2 Reading and a 5 or higher on TSIA 2 Writing Placer. 

Testing: Scored a 530 or higher on SAT Math OR a 19 or higher on ACT Math and 23 or higher ACT Composite OR a  950 or higher on TSIA 2 Math.

 

Deadlines: Requests for Early Release/Late Arrival and the completed permission form is  due by the last day of school.
