Choir Achieves Outstanding Results at UIL Competition

Ms Garza and Mr. Lewis are proud to announce the successes of all the choirs at the UIL Concert & Sight Reading Contest. The Men's choir sang beautifully, while the JV Women and Varsity Mixed each scored an excellent rating on stage and brought home plaques for a Superior in Sight Reading. The Varsity Women received a perfect score from every judge earning a Sweepstakes award!

Avery Cerullo Competes at Regional Track Meet

Avery Cerullo recently competed in the regional track meet and represented Magnolia West very well. Avery did not qualify for the state but this Mustang gave all he had and was only .1 second away from setting a new school record!

Mustang Track Athletes Achieve Personal Bests at Area Finals

Three Mustangs recently competed in the area track meet. Jared Soyring finished with a personal best of 46’ 11” in shot put and Joel Heitekko jumped a personal best 20’ 11” in long jump. Both athletes earned 6th place overall in their events. Avery Cerullo also finished with a personal best of 39.3 seconds in the 300 hurdles, winning 2nd place and the opportunity to advance to the regional meet.

Softball Defeats Tomball 11 - 10

Varsity Softball Team beat Tomball 11-10, with a walk off double by Savannah Robertson. Offensively, Ryssa Garcia led the team with 4 hits, hitting for the cycle and having 4 RBIs.. Emma McBride, Savannah Robertson, each had 2 hits. Tamryn Hamby hit a homerun and drove in 3 runs. Lauren Corley, Liberty Herrera, Karissa Petty, Zoie Burton, and Madison Johnson each had a hit.

Varsity Softball Defeats Magnolia High

The Varsity Softball Team beat Magnolia 9-5. Offensively, Emma McBride hit a homerun and a double with 2 RBIs. Lauren Corley got a hit and 2 RBIS. Madison Johnson hit a single and a RBI. Liberty Herrera hit a double. Savannah Robertson got a hit and RBI. Tamryn hit a shot down the first base line to score a run. Bailee Cano had a sac bunt. Karissa Petty hit a hard shot to start a rally. Toni Tamborello had 2 good at bats for a base on balls. Defensively, Emma McBride made some great plays, ending the game with a double play. Ryssa Garcia and Lacey Hall pitched a great game.

Tennis Team Remains Dominant - Scoring 7 of 10 medals

The mustangs earned medals in 7 out of 10 events
at the Waller tournament Thursday. The following students finished strong.
Alex Gilfoil/Wyatt Watson finished 1st in boys A doubles.
Nicholas Gonzaga finished 1st in boys B singles.
John Paul Ellwanger finished 2nd in boys A singles.
Betsy Maxwell/Amanda Cornell finished 2nd in girls B doubles.
Kylie Harsch finished 2nd in girls B singles.
Sean Skweres/Matthew Gerthe finished 3rd in boys A doubles.
Edith Castro/Quentin Maxwell finished consolation winner in mixed doubles.

Lady Mustangs Softball Beats Brenham 12-11

Offensively, Tamaryn Hamby led with 4 hits and 2 RBIs. Lauren Corley had 3 hits with 1 RBI. Madison Johnson had 2 hits and 5 RBIs. Emma McBride, Savannah Robertson, Liberty Herrea,and Karissa Petty each had 1 hit. Defensively, Lacey Hall got the win in the circle and Toni Tamborello got the save.
