- GPA stands for Grade Point Average
- GPA and class rank are determined by semester grades
- GPA's are calculated on a weighted 5.0 scale. This means that Pre-Ap, AP, and **Dual Credit classes carry more weight than on-level classes.
** Please note: Students entering Magnolia West in 2013-2014 and beyond do not receive GPA points for Dual credit classes. Dual Credit classes are NOT calculated into GPA.
- Summer school courses, correspondence courses, Credit by exam grades, and grades earned in Omega do not count in GPA.
Important Information regarding GPA's for Senior students: In regards to Senior top 10% ranking for Graduation purposes, School Board Policy states that "the district shall calculate class rank at the end of the third nine week grading period of the senior year.
